Nourishing Body Butter 200ml

Hormonal changes can leave menopausal skin feeling dry, itchy, tight, or inflamed - and most moisturisers simply don’t help, because they’re packed with seed oils, fillers, and synthetic ingredients your skin struggles to use.

Honestly Body Butter was created to solve that.

But its benefits go far beyond menopause.
Our rich, skin-compatible blend of cocoa butter, lanolin, olive oil, shea butter, mango butter and limonene provides deep repair for any skin that’s stressed, sensitive, or struggling - from eczema patches to psoriasis dryness, from flaky winter skin to cracked heels.

If your skin barrier needs soothing, strengthening, or nourishing, this body butter is made for you.

Every jar is handmade by me here on the Wirral.

How to Use

Warm a small amount between clean, dry hands until it softens, then massage gently into the skin. A little goes a long way, and regular use delivers the best results.

A Note About Texture

Because Honestly Body Butter is made from high-quality, natural butters (with no fillers, stabilisers, or seed oils), its firmness changes with temperature.
In cooler weather it may become quite firm - this is completely normal. Simply scoop a small amount out and it will melt beautifully on contact with your skin.
If you prefer a softer texture, keep your jar in a warm room and it will naturally become more supple.

Benefits of Ingredients:

Cocoa Butter Contains vitamins D2, E & K and is thought to soothe skin irritation, smooth dry skin, wrinkles and scars, and help heal rashes from conditions such as dermatitis and eczema. Has anti-inflammatory properties and is a great skin hydrator. Is made up mostly of palmitic, stearic and oleic acid and has less than 3% linoleic acid. Stearic acid increases mitochondrial function and has a strong anti-cortisol and anti-anxiety effect. “Palmitic acid is one of the most protective substances for metabolism due to activation of the enzyme PDH (the primary factor of proper glucose activation)” - Dr. Ray Peat.

Lanolin Extremely hydrating and helps to soften skin. “Lanolin is a very stiff oil, it helps to thin it with a little coconut oil or MCT, besides being a protective sealing agent so your skin doesn’t dehydrate, it tends to hold moisture in the skin just by forming a seal, but at the same time it’s more than 50% of a precursor steroid to cholesterol, to the extent that it can be dissolved (maybe in olive oil or MCT etc.) to the extent that it can dissolve into the skin it’s going to have an anti-ageing effect by supporting the local production of cholesterol” - Dr. Ray Peat [Interview on One Radio Network]

Olive Oil Contains vitamins A, D, E & K and has anti-bacterial properties. It contains antioxidants which help to calm down redness and irritation caused by acne or psoriasis, and can help to prevent or reverse damage from UV radiation. Is mostly made up of oleic acid.

Shea Butter Very moisturising and has low comedogenic rating so wont clog pores. Contains vitamins A, C & E and has anti-oxidant activity. Has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. It may minimise the appearance of fine lines and result in plumper skin due to the triterpenes it contains, which possibly deactivate collagen fibre destruction. It may help soothe conditions like eczema, dermatitis and psoriasis, and may help reduce appearance of stretch marks, scars, fine lines and wrinkles. Made up mostly of stearic acid, oleic acid and palmitic acid.

Mango Butter Has natural moisturising properties and is suitable for dry skin. Contains vitamins A, C & E and absorbs easily. It’s anti-bacterial and can soothe acne inflammations. It’s also thought to be anti-inflammatory and to be protective, soothing and healing. Is mostly made up of stearic acid, oleic acid and palmitic acid.

Limonene A study in 2012 [Valgimigli et al.] showed that D-Limonene enhances the penetration of vitamins E, A & C into the skin. Vitamins C & A had their flux through the skin enhanced by factors of 3.4 & 5.8 respectively, whereas the penetration of vitamin E was 9-fold enhanced. Plus it adds a lovely orange scent to the body butter.
